Poppy Mae
Poppy joined our program in early 2024 and has resided in our home ever since. She is my little angel baby, and I'm admittedly convinced she can do no wrong! She has such a gentle, affectionate nature and embodies so much of what makes the Cavalier special. Poppy is incredibly laid-back, has a soft spot for everyone she meets, and is perfectly content simply being wherever her people are.
If there's an opportunity to snuggle, Poppy will take it. She's happiest curled up beside or on top of someone, usually falling asleep on her back or stretched out in a full sploot. Before becoming a momma, she had the sweetest habit of cuddling up with tiny stuffed animals, often falling asleep with them tucked under her head. Now that she's had puppies of her own, we've loved watching her playful side shine through. She'll run around inviting her puppies to chase her, patiently engaging with them and making a game out of just about anything. She has always been wonderful with children, gets along beautifully with other animals, and seems to have an endless amount of affection to give.
Poppy has completed full panel testing through Embark Vet, preliminary hip and elbow testing through OFA, along with final OFA testing for eyes, patellar luxation, cardiac & thyroid. Poppy will be receiving her OFA finals for hips and elbows in early 2027. Between her wonderful temperament, affectionate personality, and natural love for her puppies, Poppy is everything we could have hoped for in a Cavalier and so much more. She's a very special part of our family, and we feel fortunate to have her as one of our mommas.
